Weyburn Remains Under Boil Water Advisory

The City of Weyburn remains under a boil water advisory, which was originally issued by the city Saturday afternoon.
“From what I’ve been advised, it was that the pumps went down because of an electrical system failure, so then the water system depressurized,” explained Weyburn Mayor Marcel Roy.
“Once the water system depressurizes, it triggers a boil water advisory simply by government standards.” The alert called for residents of Weyburn to limit their water use to essential uses only.
Before using water for things such as drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or others, it is recommended to boil water for one minute before use.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
