As of July 25, drought conditions were rated 52 percent abnormally dry to exceptional, up approximately eight points from the previous week and up 14 points from the previous year.
Corn silk reached 76 percent, down 7 points from the previous year and down 10 points from normal, while corn dough reached 30 percent, up 5 points from the previous year but down 11 points from normal.
Sorghum coloring reached 26 percent, up 9 points from the previous year and up 11 points from normal.
Soybeans setting pods reached 22 percent, up 8 points from the previous year and up 13 points from normal.
Cotton squaring reached 89 percent, up 14 points from the previous year and up 12 points from normal.
