Drought continues despite rainfall

Drought continues despite rainfall.
Recent rainfall may aid in fire prevention and alleviate some stress on late-season crops, but the drought fight is far from over.
Bismarck received .34 inches of rain yesterday morning, according to Weather Underground.
"We’re going to see a little help with this rain, but not for everyone," Schlag said.
“We’re not going to see a lot of help for early planted crops like wheat,” said Schlag.
However, the rain should put a damper on the recent outbreak of grassfires.
“In the dirty 30s, every other field was left fallow.
“We would probably need to see a few weeks of this active weather pattern before we’d notice an improvement in the Drought Monitor," Schlag said.
Family Day Riverwalk, an outdoor event that brings families together for a day of fun activities, saw an increase in attendance over last year, despite the rainy morning.
"It couldn’t have worked out any better."
