Dry conditions increasing with updated drought monitor.

It has been some time since Green Country has received a measurable amount of rain.
When you combine that with the warm weather, the dry conditions are starting to spread.
Going all the way back to August 1, there is a large difference in the amount of drought across the state.
Large amounts of rain were received within the first part of the month and quickly dropped the drought/dry conditions across not only Green Country but also across Oklahoma.
Meteorologist Laura Mock spoke with the Oklahoma Forestry Department about how the wet August has impacted us so far: The increased dry conditions across Green Country also means that some of the vegetation will start to dry out and go into its dormant state.
